Update on vacant Tomboy space

As we previously reported, Hamburger Mary's is expected to take over the space recently vacated by Tomboy (5402 N Clark). We just got word that Mary's ownership is planning to put a sports-themed bar in the vacant space. We think this would be a very welcome addition to the Edgewater/Andersonville neighborhood. If anyone else has further info/details, let us know in the comments.

Wow - great news if this is true! Charlie's or Crew are really the closest things for watching a game. Charlie's isnt much a sports bar, and Crew is great but more Uptown.

I'd love a decent sports bar here in Andersonville. A good beer selection, decent food, quality HD tvs and some games and they'd be set. Charlie's has some of this, but it's not a place I'd go to watch a game. Ravenswood Pub has lots of tvs, but no food and is a bit insular. There have to be some guys in this neighborhood looking for a sports night out away from their wives who push their kids in strollers around the streets all day.

Would be a great space to pay your taxes, pay for your parking sticker or your parking tickets.

A real sports bar would be a great addition to the neighborhood. Normally I go to Charlie's but that's not really a sports bar, it's a bar with TVs in it.

A dollar store would be very welcomed (and much needed) here. The former very, very large laundry mat place down the street still sits vacant for about 1.5 years now and there's been a "for rent" sign next to the place that charges $3.20 a scoop for ice cream for quite a long time. Kinda lookin' like Detroit don'tcha think?

Maybe Walgreens, Walmart and Taco Bell aren't such a bad thing for people that actually work for a living afterall? They're all open after 6:00 p.m. anyway.
