I was kind of shocked when I walked past that uprooted tree in the 2nd picture today at Wayne and Berwyn. Hadn't walked around since Friday. Those were some crazy strong storms, but didn't think they could uproot a tree like that.
That car...ouch. I was almost in the same spot a few months ago. Was parked near a friend's house in Rogers Park. Big storm at night. Got up the next day and the two cars behind me were whacked by a tree that fell from across the street. It just missed my Jeep.
yeah i was doing delivery for calos when that tree fell of the top of that red car.. i was 4 houses away when it fell. I had to call many other drivers to prevent our orders from being late.
well, the owner of that car obviously doesn't care because it's sat like that since the storm. it's hood/trunk is now open - looks like an abandoned car in ......uh, Detroit.
I'd think the property owners (homes) would care enough to at least bundle some of those limbs/branches, drag them off of their porches for pick up and property owners (cars) would secure them as much as possible, have them towed, etc.
Very different, very different here. I blame it on utter laziness.
Dear Detroit Troll: I am so glad you feel a little more at home here in Chicago, what with the abandoned cars and the recession and all....I mean, thats Detroit before the stock market crash....no wonder you moved here, I don't blame you for being so mad at life (and everything in general), having had to live in Detroit - that must have been really terrible - my sympathies go out to you.

Damn!
The owner of that car is not going to have a good day when he sees that.
