This is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Ridge is an incredibly busy street. What is the logic of dropping it down to two lanes? Increased parking revenue?
Yes, revenue is the key. If your vehicle is green in color and parked on the third Tuesday of the month (even within the posted acceptable hours), there will be a ticket waiting for you.
Three years in Chicago and I've received one parking ticket. I fought it and WON (with a picture)!
I challenge every sign in this city. You should too!
This makes no sense. It will take just one car parked past the legal time to turn Ridge into morning chaos. Two Eastbound lanes of traffic from Peterson and one Southbound lane of traffic from Ridge in Rogers Park all converge into the two Southbound lanes of Ridge in Edgewater right now; with this proposal three lanes would need to squeeze into one lane.
How about just using one Northbound lane of Ridge for nighttime parking; this would be much less likely to screw up traffic in the morning.
again.... i thought this issue was dismissed due to the fact that Ridge is essentially part of the state hightway system as it links LSD (route 14) to 94. No parking on Ridge.... Let it be!
Just because selfish idiot lone-motorist commuters think they should be able to blast through Edgewater to get to LSD doesn't mean Ridge, Sheridan, Broadway and Hollywood should all turn into feeder ramps, to the detriment of the neighborhood.
